Since before the Second World War Germany’s clock production was self sufficient, and they did not need to import them from Switzerland, when the production of airplanes, tanks, trucks… was reaching the top. |

The Bo-Uk-1 FL23885 Blindfluguhr (blind-flight or instrumental flight), made by Junghans, was designed for flights without visibility. It provided all the necessary about time in an airplane,
This clock was so valuable, that pilots were forced to take it and the gunsight in case of an emergency landing. During the time it was being built, 5 other models were created, going from using a brass bezel and knobs to bakelite. The Bo UK 1 has power for 36 hours, 11 jewels, and a 30BZ caliber. There was 6 versions of this model, the 5 first where done with a brass bezel the last with bakelite is the more common. Betwen the five first versions the diferent was the handsetting, the first by pulling the knob, second has a push cap back, third hand setting at 3, foueth hand setting at 5, and fiveth second dial at 12. |
